About Me
I am so happy you have found my website and blog!
I am a logophile which means I love WORDS!!! This makes sense as I am a published author, poet, blogger, editor, writer, proofreader, and reader. I enjoy reading even when I am not working on a client project or one of my works-in-progress (WIPs).
How i started Writing
I started writing stories when I was six years old. I began writing letters as well as poems.
In later years, I would become pen pals with several friends and friends of friends. One pen pal in particular is the focus of my soon-to-be-published book!
In 2005 or 2006, I began writing articles for a website. That website led me to meet a fellow writer on the website. We have been friends for 20 years!
In August 2009, I co-authored and published my first book!
In late 2011, I began writing website content for a website design company. I continue to write website content for my clients, my clients' clients, and my own content.
In 2012, I became a 'stringer' or freelance journalist for a local newspaper that published weekly as well as two online magazines. That was a lot of fun to write profile pieces on business owners, leaders in the community, and highlight upcoming or past events
Know My Story
My life is not just about writing, publishing articles and books, or doing interviews. There is a lot more to me than that.
I am a homeschooling mother of four sons. While the boys and I are Pacific Northwest Natives and don't mind the rainy days, their father was an East Coast transplant. He loved Mount Rainier and considered where we lived "God's Country." We lost him in 2021 after moving cross-country to the Midwest.
Along with homeschooling our boys, we enjoyed many activities that got us involved in the community.
We started growing our own food in the summer of 2005 on the porch of the duplex we were renting. After buying a home later that fall which had a big backyard, I began reading as many books as possible about gardening on a larger scale. I enjoyed the research and planning of the layout of the garden beds so much that I became a Certified Square Foot Gardening Instructor in 2013. I love teaching others how to grow their own food. I have helped others plan and plot their own gardens, plant with them, help them mix soil, and harvest. I love going to nurseries and garden centers to walk around and see what plants and trees I can find.
I became a licensed Techinician Class Amatuer "Ham" Radio Operator in 2007. The boy's father got his license soon after I did. He took a second exam and became a General Class Operator. In 2011, he took the third and final exam to become an Extra Class Operator. This final step allowed him to become a Volunteer Examiner which means he assisted in proctoring exams for potential new operators or those upgrading their license. Using our Ham Radio equipment while traveling and camping has been a fun and worthwhile adventure. It is nice to be able to communicate with the rest of my family when there is no cell towers for miles.
A big part of my life since 1998 has been learning as much as possible about Celiac Disease and living gluten free. For the rest of that story, grab a copy of my book, The Gluten-Free Way: My Way available on Amazon in print and Kindle. I remain gluten free and feel better without the gluten. I realized that I react to it - as well as some of the gluten free flours - differently than my boys' father and my boys. I love 'converting' wheat/gluten-based recipes into their gluten free counterparts.

Why People Work With Me
As you can see from my story above, I personally write about a wide variety of topics. I can usually match my tone of writing to match the tone of the client's website content that is already there. I have been complemented on how my writing is informational without the fluff.
I have written website content, social media posts, as well as marketing materials for many different types of clients. Some of those clients include law firms, a licensed massage therapist, a charter bus company, a denture clinic, a chiropractor, a woman's health coach, roofing companies, an electrician, a photographer, marketing agencies, a gluten free bakery, a clothing company, a bar, a restaurant, a gunsmith, a limosine service, and multiple website design companies.
I have been published in a local newspaper along with their online magazines. One of my articles was published on an online website which also included some articles in their printed newsletter. I have had some of my articles published on Grit and Mother Earth News. One of my articles was published in a community newsletter. I have been a guest blogger on others' blogs. I have written articles for non-profit organizations and those have been included in their member newsletters. I have done collaborations with brands and businesses. I was an Official Author and Blogger for a gluten free expo. During one election year, I wrote the content and profile for a canidate for local race.
